Voltex (Pty) Ltd is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the role of Salaries Manager for their National Wholesale. This incumbent will be reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.

The main function of this position is to compile payroll information by managing payroll preparation, completing reports and maintaining records.

The key tasks & responsibilities for this position are to:

  • Administer employee salaries for headcount +/- 1200 employees
  • Review of month end payroll journals
  • Liaise with various departments and branches to ensure accurate information is processed
  • Ensuring payroll related queries are attended to effectively and efficiently
  • Maintain employee data on Payroll System
  • Maintain accurate filling and documentation of all relevant payroll data
  • Administer statutory and benefits (pension fund/funeral fund/medical aid) monthly payments and reporting
  • Processing and reconciling all monthly SARS payments on E-filing
  • Processing Midyear tax reconciliations and submitting to SARS
  • Monthly EMP 201 reconciliations including ETI and submission
  • Reconciling and submission of EMP501 at tax year end
  • Distributing IRP5’s at tax year end
  • Assist with Annual audits – internal & external
  • Remain current with the legislative changes within SA Payroll
  • Assist HR with ad hoc salary data comparisons
  • Prepare annual increase & bonus sheets
  • Train & support staff on the online systems (SAGE, ESS)
  • Resolve queries with pension administrators and medical aid providers
  • Support staff with payroll tax queries and general payroll queries
  • Posting payroll journal entries within the accounting system
  • Apply for tax clearance certificates where necessary

The key educational requirements and experience for this position would be:

  • A Bachelor of Commerce in Finance / HR Management is a MUST
  • 5 years relevant work experience
  • Strong knowledge of Sage 300 Payroll software is a MUST
  • Experienced in payroll legislation and payroll process improvements.
  • Strong knowledge of computer software packages and MS Office (Excel for data and reporting)
  • In depth knowledge of statutory requirements (PAYE, UIF, SITE, and VAT) 
  • Proven knowledge of Corporate Governance relating to compensation and wage structure, benefits administration, workmen’s’ compensation, payroll principles, practices, standard laws, and regulations is a MUST
  • Experience working in a large complex payroll department.
  • Experience in managing of staff
  • Solid accounting experience in the preparation of journal entries and reconciliation of payroll to accounting records

The key tasks & responsibilities for this position are to:

  • Maintain sales and support to existing clients in the area allocated
  • Compile an accurate and comprehensive data base on customers and their relationships/influences

  • Conduct exhibitions and customer specific training if required

The key educational requirements and experience for this position would be:

  • A valid Grade 12 certificate is a MUST
  • A tertiary technical qualification preferably in Electrical Field would be an ADVANTAGE
  • A minimum of 3-4 years Electrical Sales experience
  • Knowledge of electrical industry
  • Valid driver’s licence is a MUST
  • Computer literate – preference will be given to users with strong K8 knowledge

The main function of this position is to provide a high level of support to the Legal department and ensure the efficient and effective administration of the office

The key tasks & responsibilities for this position are to:

  • Responsible for claiming legal fees from the insurer
  • Consider, comment, vet, and give advice on all new credit applications (contracts) from branches
  • Responsible for opening and loading of new accounts on K8
  • Keep and maintain accurate database of Insurer’s legal fees, attorney invoices and salvage payment documentation
  • Responsible for compiling a write off list after claims have been paid by the Insurer
  • Help to maintain and update legal files, payments and correspondences.
  • Perform accurate data capturing of salvages and payments from the Attorneys and clients
  • Provide support to the Legal team with general administrative duties
  • Draft payment memos from bank statements and sending same to relevant branches for allocation

The key educational requirements and qualifications for this position would be:

  • A Matric certificate is a MUST
  • Completed or Studying towards an Accounting or Law Qualification
  • Proven experience working in the legal department is a MUST
  • CGIC Experience and Cregalink is an ADVANTAGE
  • Previous administration experience is a MUST
  • To have credit management experience
  • To have knowledge and experience in the industry is an ADVANTAGE
  • Computer Literate (Microsoft Word and Excel)

The purpose of this role is responsible for counting and monitoring inventory levels and product movement at the warehouse to ensure materials align with the declared lists and documents. The key tasks & responsibilities for this position are to:
  • Monitor and control inventory integrity
  • Perform daily cycle counts
  • Maintain product identification, location, and lot code accuracy
  • Research inventory discrepancies
  • Work with Inventory Control Coordinator to resolve inventory problems in a timely manner
  • Open and pack containers to count items and/or weigh materials to determine quantity on hand

  • Ensure to cut the correct cable and wire according to the correct size and length required
  • Ensure to attach a label to the cut cable specifying the size, length, and the customer name
  • Record cable cut in cable control book or on the relevant slip
