BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – PORT ELIZABETH

Voltex (Pty) Ltd is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the role of Business Development Manager for their Eastern Cape Region. This incumbent will be reporting to the Regional Manager.

The purpose of this role is to improve the company’s market position and achieve financial growth. To act as the front of the company and be dedicated to creating and applying an effective sales strategy.

The key tasks & responsibilities for this position are to:

  • Develop and implement strategic action plans for the business development function to improve overall business performance
  • Align the business development strategy with the organizational strategy, goals and objectives
  • Strategies, research, develop and review appropriate business development principles and processes and adopt best practices
  • Ensure adherence with corporate governance and ethics guidelines
  • Review and evaluate business development risks and make suitable recommendations
  • Identify, source and pursue new business opportunities by continuous review of the market in which the organization operates and of potential new markets
  • Investigate opportunities for strategic partnerships in the region
  • Review and monitor business development pipeline and success rate
  • Network with potential distributors, contractors and industry professionals to identify tender opportunities in the region
  • Manage the bid and proposals function and execute the bid strategy in the region
  • Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction
  • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs
  • Arrange business meetings with prospective clients
  • Promote the company’s products/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives
  • Prepare sales contracts ensuring adherence to law-established rules and guidelines
  • Keep records of sales, revenue, invoices etc.
  • Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support
  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers
  • Develop entry level staff into valuable sales people
  • Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence for the region
  • Contribute to short and long-term organizational planning and strategy as a member of the team
  • Set and drive financial objectives and targets for the business development function in line with organizational objectives
  • Report on variances from the budget and the reasons for variances
  • Ensure controls are in place to mitigate financial risks
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, estimated potential and planned profitability per customer
  • Reconcile monthly activity, generating year-end reports and fulfilling tax related requirements
  • Oversee overall financial management, planning, systems and controls
  • Develop an individual budget program
  • Invoice to funding sources including calculation of completed units of service
  • Organize of fiscal documents
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, estimated potential and planned profitability per customer
  • Reconciling monthly activity, generating year-end reports and fulfilling tax related requirement

The key educational requirements and experience for this position would be:

  • A valid Grade 12 certificate is a MUST
  • A qualification in Electrical Engineering is an ADVANTAGE
  • Minimum 5 years business development experience is a MUST
  • Strong knowledge of electrical products
  • Driver’s licence is an ADVANTAGE
  • Knowledge of MS Office packages – preference will be given to users with strong K8 knowledge

External Sales Representative – Voltex George

Voltex (Pty) Ltd is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the role of an External Sales Representative for their George branch. This incumbent will be reporting to the Branch Manager.
The main function of this position is actively seek out and engage both existing as well as new customer prospects and to, provide solutions for customers in order to boost revenue growth.

The key tasks & responsibilities for this position are to:

  •  Maintain sales and support to existing clients in the area allocated
  •  Compile an accurate and comprehensive data base on customers and their relationships/influences
  •  Generate growth of allocated and new customer base
  •  Prepare and conduct presentations to customers
  •  Conduct exhibitions and customer specific training if required
  •  Prepare and report on sales for your area allocated
  • Attend key project or customer meetings
  •  Report on competitor activities in the area
  •  Compile monthly sales review and forecasts against agreed targets
  •  Perform other duties as directed by management
  •  Establish and maintain effective customer relationships to understand customer needs
  •  Promote customer understanding of full product understanding of full products offering and align to provide a solution
  •  Ensure a positive customer experience throughout the sales process
  •  Consulting to Specifiers, Influencers and Engineering Consultants in the area

The key educational requirements and experience for this position would be:

  • A valid Grade 12 certificate is a MUST
  •  A tertiaty technical qualification preferably in Electrical Field would be an ADVANTAGE
  • A minimum of 3-4 years Electrical Sales experience
  •  Knowledge of electrical industry
  •  Valid driver’s licence is a MUST
