EXPORT SALES REPRESENTATIVE – ALRODE

Voltex (Pty) Ltd is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the role of Export Sales Representative for the National Wholesale.  This incumbent will be reporting to the Branch Manager.

The purpose of this role is to actively seek out and engage both existing as well as new customer prospects and to, provide solutions for customers in order to boost revenue growth.  You will be required to travel to some of the SADC countries, starting with Botswana and Mozambique.

Your areas of responsibility:

• Maintain sales and improve sales on cable, solar and wholesale products and support existing clients
• Identify, source and pursue new business opportunities by continuous review of the market in which the organization operates and of potential new market
• Call and follow up on Industry Wholesalers, switchgear panel builders, system integrators, hardware, and any re-sellers (DIY)
• Compile an accurate and comprehensive database on customers and their relationships/influences
• Prepare customer proposals, reports and quotations
• Update customer base on product updates and new products
• Prepare and report on sales for your area
• Attend key project or customer meetings
• Report on competitor activities in the area
• Compile monthly sales review and forecasts
• Perform other duties as directed by Sales Manager
• Investigate opportunities for growth in Africa

Qualifications we are looking for:

• A valid Grade 12 certificate is a MUST
• A tertiary technical qualification preferably in Electrical Field is an ADVANTAGE
• A minimum of 3-4 years Electrical Sales with a focus on export sales experience
• Proven track record of project sales, long sales cycles environment is an ADVANTAGE
• Strong knowledge of electrical industry
• Willing to travel extensively across the African continent
• Valid passport and ability to obtain necessary visas and permits for travel
• Valid driver’s licence is a MUST
• Computer literate – preference will be given to users with strong K8 knowledge
