Voltex (Pty) Ltd is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the role of Salaries Manager for their National Wholesale. This incumbent will be reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.
The main function of this position is to compile payroll information by managing payroll preparation, completing reports and maintaining records.
The key tasks & responsibilities for this position are to:
- Administer employee salaries for headcount +/- 1200 employees
- Review of month end payroll journals
- Liaise with various departments and branches to ensure accurate information is processed
- Ensuring payroll related queries are attended to effectively and efficiently
- Maintain employee data on Payroll System
- Maintain accurate filling and documentation of all relevant payroll data
- Administer statutory and benefits (pension fund/funeral fund/medical aid) monthly payments and reporting
- Processing and reconciling all monthly SARS payments on E-filing
- Processing Midyear tax reconciliations and submitting to SARS
- Monthly EMP 201 reconciliations including ETI and submission
- Reconciling and submission of EMP501 at tax year end
- Distributing IRP5’s at tax year end
- Assist with Annual audits – internal & external
- Remain current with the legislative changes within SA Payroll
- Assist HR with ad hoc salary data comparisons
- Prepare annual increase & bonus sheets
- Train & support staff on the online systems (SAGE, ESS)
- Resolve queries with pension administrators and medical aid providers
- Support staff with payroll tax queries and general payroll queries
- Posting payroll journal entries within the accounting system
- Apply for tax clearance certificates where necessary
The key educational requirements and experience for this position would be:
- A Bachelor of Commerce in Finance / HR Management is a MUST
- 5 years relevant work experience
- Strong knowledge of Sage 300 Payroll software is a MUST
- Experienced in payroll legislation and payroll process improvements.
- Strong knowledge of computer software packages and MS Office (Excel for data and reporting)
- In depth knowledge of statutory requirements (PAYE, UIF, SITE, and VAT)
- Proven knowledge of Corporate Governance relating to compensation and wage structure, benefits administration, workmen’s’ compensation, payroll principles, practices, standard laws, and regulations is a MUST
- Experience working in a large complex payroll department.
- Experience in managing of staff
- Solid accounting experience in the preparation of journal entries and reconciliation of payroll to accounting records
