On Thursday, January 25, 2024, Voltex joined forces with Ashraful Aid KZN to make a meaningful impact in the community of Rookdale Mission Bergville, KZN. The collaborative effort aimed to support the local school pupils by distributing essential items generously donated by Voltex Pty Ltd.
The team worked together to distribute 509 school shoes and hygiene packs to the students of Mqedandaba High School. This particular school was chosen due to the prevalent challenges faced by the community, including an increase in child-headed households and limited financial resources. Despite these obstacles, the 2023 matric pupils at Mqedandaba High School achieved an impressive 94% matric pass rate.
The distributed items included 509 pairs of Toughees Boys and Girls School Shoes, ensuring that the students had appropriate footwear for their daily activities. Additionally, 509 Girls Hygiene Packs were distributed, each containing 4 always sanitary pads, 1 toothpaste, 1 toothbrush, a facecloth, 1 bar of soap, and 1 deodorant. The Boys Hygiene Packs, numbering 509 as well, included 1 toothpaste, 1 toothbrush, a facecloth, 1 bar of soap, and 1 deodorant.
This collaborative effort between Voltex and Ashraful Aid made a significant impact on the lives of the students and the broader community, providing essential items to improve their daily lives and support their educational journey.
On Friday, January 26, 2024, Voltex joined hands with Ashraful Aid KZN to extend a helping hand to the community of Ndwedwe Sonkombo Area on the North Coast of KZN. Together, the Voltex and Ashraful Aid team orchestrated the distribution of 460 school shoes and hygiene packs, generously provided by Voltex Pty Ltd, to school pupils in need.
For this initiative, Mzingezwi Secondary School was chosen as the focal point, considering the pressing issue of an increasing number of child-headed households. Despite facing challenges, the matric pupils of 2023 at Mzingezwi Secondary School achieved a 65% matric pass rate. Although this marked a decline from the previous year’s 75%, the school’s principal has implemented a strategic plan to enhance results for the upcoming 2024 matriculants.
